Telangana: govt doctors stop outpatient service
Govt doctors in the Gandhi Hospital in Telangana have reportedly stopped the outpatient service in the hospital and also other hospitals.
The protest is in consideration of an allegation by the govt doctors that around 129 native doctors of Andhra Pradesh have been allotted posts in Telangana.
Supporting the allegation, the doctors have further alleged that there is an apparent evidence in the form of a tentative list issued on January 25-which provides details on allocation of posts in hospitals and medical colleges in Telangana.
The doctors are now demanding this tentative list to be cancelled, and a fresh list is prepared keeping their perspective in mind, that is, taking the views from representatives of Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGDA).
As reported by the Express, doctors from Gandhi Hospital, Osmania General Hospital, MGM Hospital, Warangal and other hospitals staged a protest at the office of Director of Medical Education here demanding health minister C Laxma Reddy and Rajeshwar Tiwari, principal secretary of Health and Medical Welfare department to address the issue.
