Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy launched a Tab with custom-made software ANMOL (ANM Online) that will enable them to go paperless while recording vital health care statistics and other records of patients.


The application and the Tab which will facilitate Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) to maintain patient data in digital format and have it automatically backed-up in a central server.


The ANMOL Tab will be distributed to all the 4,900 ANMs who are working in various parts of the state.


The authorities said that very soon representatives from UNICEF will train the ANMs to use the Tabs and software efficiently.


“The Central Government has decided to give tabs to ANM, when ANM’s reaches to villages for treatment of poor, they will upgrade all the information in the tab’s so that it reaches to the concern officials immediately. We are also giving training to ANM’s so that they can use the tabs very easily,” he said addressing the media here.


ANMs provide vital primary health care services at the village level to pregnant women, mothers and infants. Apart from this, they are also responsible to collect healthcare data of the local population.
