TN Minister confident AIIMS hospital will come up in Madurai
Madurai : Tamil Nadu Revenue Minister R B Udhayakumar said he was confident that the proposed AIIMS Hospital will come up at Thoppur in Madurai.
Talking to reporters here, he said as 200 acres of land had been chosen for the purpose and proposals for establishing the hospital had been sent to the government through the district Collector.
He also said the State had sent a recommendation to the Union Health Ministry for setting up AIIMS in Thanjavur also.
The hospital site was well linked to the four-lane highway and other roads too, he said adding infrastructure facilities could be created at the selected place for AIIMS.
The proposed AIIMS hospital would benefit people in 12 districts of the State, Udhayakumar said.
