Moradabad: At least sixty unqualified doctors have been booked in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh for treating patients out in the open and in unhygienic spaces.
Moradabad's Deputy Chief Medical Officer Ranjan Gautam said he found a few doctors giving treatment to people in an inadequate manner and when he ordered a probe, he found that they were chemists.
Gautam immediately ordered the clinics of these unqualified doctors to be sealed and booked them on charges of medical negligence. Their case will be heard in a chief magistrate's court on today.
"When I got to know about the incident, I went there and inquired about the same. I found that a few doctors were treating patients in an inadequate manner. They had patients lined up outside their clinics in an open ground. The first thing I did was I sealed premises of the concerned doctors and asked what was the reason for indulging in this malpractice. Then then I got to know that one of them was a mere chemist and was running a medical store. After that, I sealed his clinic as well," said Gautam.
"After the investigation, an ambulance was called and the patients were sent to the district hospital. These fake doctors will be prosecuted. We have sealed a few more hoax hospitals like these. In all, I had caught 60 doctors and they will be prosecuted in a chief magistrate's court on Monday," he added.
