Women, Child health care a priority in government health mission at Puducherry
Puducherry: Health care of women and children is a priority in the health mission of Puducherry government, which had integrated existing schemes of reproductive and child health care, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said. He said the mission had also integrated the national leprosy eradication programme, revised national tuberculosis programme, vector borne diseases control schemes, besides national programme for control of blindness and integrated disease surveillance programme. In addition to government sponsored health care facilities,medical institutions in the private sector had also brought in several top end infrastructure in Puducherry. He said the main aim of the mission was to provide accessible affordable and reliable health care, especially to the poor and vulnerable sections of society.
