Aurangabad: District hospital employee caught taking bribe from doctor
Aurangabad: A Statistics assistant attached with district general hospital at Chikalthana of the district was arrested by the Aurangabad unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a complainant doctor.
The alleged accused, Santosh Jejurkar (52), had sought Rs 5,000 as bribe to renew certificate of the complainant's doctor wife's nursing home at Paithan, under the Bombay Nursing Act.
After bargaining, the matter was settled at Rs 3,000, a note issued by ACB stated here.
Reluctant to pay the bribe, the complainant lodged a complaint with local ACB office against Jejurkar.
After verifying facts of the complaint, an ACB team today laid a trap in hospital premises and caught red-handed Jejurkar while accepting bribe money from the complainant.
“Mandhane’s wife runs a hospital in Paithan and as per Bombay Nursing Act renewal of the registration is mandatory after every three years The renewal was due and Mandhane had submitted a complete renewal proposal. The application came to Jeurkar,who called Mandhane around 10 days ago and asked to come to his office with Rs 300 towards renewal and Rs 5,000 as bribe." An offence under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at the local police station against the accused,the note added.
