Prof. (Dr.) Tarun Kumar Sahni is widely recognized as the pioneer of modern hyperbaric medicine in India, with over four decades of clinical, academic, and research experience. A graduate of AFMC and a former Navy medical officer, Dr. Sahni established India’s first private hyperbaric center and currently leads one of the busiest hyperbaric units at Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. He has 30+ publications, including landmark studies on hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for traumatic brain injury, stroke, and diabetic wounds. He also commissioned the world’s highest HBOT unit in Ladakh (10,000 ft) and holds international certifications from IMCA, OEUK, and others. His research now explores HBOT in neurodegeneration, aging reversal, and integrative medicine.
