AYUSH Minister inaugurates first advanced Homoeopathy Virology lab

Kolkata: The country's only laboratory to conduct basic research in Homoeopathy for viral diseases was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik.
The lab is being set up at the city's Dr Anjali Chatterjee Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy.
“This laboratory has been established to develop new drugs and technologies in homoeopathy to combat emerging challenges of viral diseases,” said Naik, while launching the laboratory.
The virology laboratory, established at a cost of Rs 5 crore, besides conducting basic and fundamental research in Homoeopathy for viral diseases like influenza, Japanese encephalitis, dengue, chickungunya and swine flu, would also develop new drugs and technologies.
According to a senior doctor at the Institute, the drugs would be developed in the virology laboratory to combat emerging challenges of viral diseases.
It may be mentioned that the Institute has undertaken several clinical research studies like autism, psoriasis, vitiligo, breast cancer, hypertension, migraine besides, proving of new drugs in homoeopathy with their clinical validations.

“Government of India is doing everything possible to promote research in various departments of homoeopathy— clinical research, drug standardization and basic research, and encourages new researchers to make India the leader in research arena of homoeopathy,” he added.
