Ayush ministry approves two Ayurvedic hospitals in UP
Kanpur : The Ayush ministry has approved a proposal for setting up two Ayurvedic hospitals in rural areas of the Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh under the National Ayush Mission.
The hospitals will be set up in Bilaur and Bithur areas of the district with 50 and 15 bed capacity, respectively.
"The ministry has approved the proposal to set up Ayurvedic hospitals in Nigoha village of Bilaur and Sighpur village of Bithur and work on it will begin soon," K R Sharma, District Magistrate of Kanpur said.
"The ministry has approved a sum of Rs 9 crore for setting up the hospitals," he said.
Besides modern medical facilities, the hospitals will also provide treatment through flagship Yoga and Panchkarma techniques.
The setting up of the two hospital in the area will promote the "ancient science" of Ayurveda and bring relief to villagers here who are dependent on cities for heath-care facilities, he added.
