AYUSH Ministry committed to promote use of traditional medicine in public health system: Shripad Naik
Panaji: Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shripad Naik said has said that the Ministry of AYUSH was committed to promoting the use of traditional medicine in public health system through regulation of research and appropriate integration of quality products, practices, and practitioners into the health system.
Speaking at the concluding function of the Ayurveda Youth Festival, organised by Central Council for Research in Ayurveda Sciences, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, at Dona Paula, near the city, on Monday, he mentioned that the escalating costs of treatment and the unwanted effects of chemical-based medicines had prompted medical experts to think of widening their horizons to traditional systems of medicine.

Mr Naik said he looked forward to the youth of Goa to follow a healthy lifestyle to stay fit and to become ambassadors for motivating others to abstain from an unhealthy lifestyle.
''The principles of Ayurveda, if adopted as a part of life, indeed have the potential to transform the society by maintaining the physical, mental, social as well as spiritual health of the people,” he said.
