Indo-UK Health Conclave 2026: 6-month certificate courses launched for AYUSH professionals

New Delhi: Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, has emphasised that traditional systems of medicine, when supported by scientific research, appropriate clinical evidence, quality standards and responsible integration, can make a significant contribution to strengthening preventive healthcare and holistic well-being across the world.
Jadhav inaugurated the second edition of Indo-UK Health Conclave 2026 in New Delhi, organised by Marengo Asia Hospitals and BAPIO Training Academy, held under the theme “Bridging Healthcare, Education and Innovation”. The two-day event brings together healthcare professionals, academicians and institutional representatives from India and the United Kingdom.
Welcoming the launch of a structured training and capacity-building initiative for AYUSH professionals, Shri Jadhav said that scientific research, appropriate clinical evidence, quality standards and responsible integration can enable traditional systems of medicine to contribute significantly to preventive healthcare and holistic well-being.

The initiative includes two six-month certificate courses for AYUSH graduates and postgraduates: Certificate in Acute Care & Emergency Support and Certificate in Lifestyle Health & Well-Being Counselling & Practice. The programmes aim to strengthen clinical-support skills and preventive health counselling through structured teaching and supervised practical training, the PIB stated.
Highlighting the complementary strengths of both countries, the Minister noted that the UK's experience in clinical governance, patient safety and quality assurance, combined with India's clinical expertise, technological innovation and healthcare delivery capabilities, can help build more effective and accountable healthcare systems.
Shri Jadhav congratulated the organisers and participating institutions, expressing confidence that the conclave would translate discussions into sustained partnerships and concrete outcomes for both countries' healthcare systems.
The conclave is expected to further deepen institutional cooperation between India and the United Kingdom, while creating new opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional development and innovation in healthcare delivery.
