Uttarakhand AYUSH Dept adopts e-Office system, prepares for Char Dham Yatra

Dehradun: The AYUSH Department is set to undergo a major administrative shift with the mandatory implementation of the e-office system, marking a significant step toward digital governance and improved efficiency. The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by Secretary Ranjana Rajguru at the Directorate of Ayurvedic and Unani Services in Dehradun.
Placing strong emphasis on digital transformation, the Secretary directed that all official correspondence within the department must now be conducted exclusively through the e-office platform, reports Amar Ujala. This move aims to streamline workflows, reduce delays, and ensure greater transparency and accountability in government functioning. To reinforce discipline, biometric attendance has also been made compulsory for all employees, along with mandatory training through the iGOT Karmayogi portal.
Alongside these administrative reforms, preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra were also reviewed. The department has been instructed to deploy AYUSH doctors along the pilgrimage routes based on a structured roster system.

A roster system is an organised way to schedule duties, assign shifts, and manage employee availability within an organization. It ensures efficient workforce distribution and can also be used in government systems to manage reservations and quota-based allocations. Identified healthcare centres must ensure adequate staffing to provide timely medical assistance to pilgrims. Authorities will also undertake extensive publicity of the healthcare services available during the yatra.
The meeting further addressed infrastructure development and regulatory measures. Plans to strengthen the Rishikul Pharmacy were discussed, with directions to expedite land identification for constructing a new facility. Strict enforcement of drug inspection mechanisms will also be implemented to maintain quality standards.
Additionally, the department will focus on increasing registrations on the AYUSH service portal, establishing Panchakarma centers, and improving healthcare infrastructure in remote areas. Awareness campaigns through social media and mobile vans will help expand public outreach.
The Secretary emphasized regular monitoring, field inspections, and monthly district-level reviews to ensure timely and effective implementation of all initiatives.
