Bangladesh PM calls upon Dr Devi Shetty for examining Cabinet Minister

“I received the call from the Bangladesh Prime Minister last evening and was requested to examine the health of the minister. I was told that the condition of the minister was serious”

Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought the help of a leading Indian cardiac surgeon in determining the treatment of her ailing senior Cabinet colleague.

Hasina called the Bengaluru-based Dr Devi Shetty on Sunday evening and requested him to come to Dhaka to examine the health condition of Bangladesh minister for Road, Transport and Bridge, Obaidul Quader.

Quader, who is also the General Secretary of ruling Awami League, was on Sunday admitted to the Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) after being diagnosed with three blockages in his coronary artery.

He was taken to the Intensive Care Unit at first and then moved to the Critical Care Unit as his condition deteriorated, the Daily Star reported.

He had also uncontrolled diabetes and electrolyte imbalance.

President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Hasina and Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and many Cabinet members and lawmakers visited him at the hospital, the paper said.

Shetty, who is the chairman of Narayana group of hospitals, arrived at the Dhaka airport on Monday afternoon from where he directly went to the BSMMU, where Quader was on life support.

“I received the call from the Bangladesh Prime Minister last evening and was requested to examine the health of the minister. I was told that the condition of the minister was serious,” Shetty told PTI over the phone.

He examined the Awami League leader and spoke with the other doctors.

Shetty said that the minister will get better treatment in Singapore.

“I examined Quader’s health closely and have asked BSMMU doctors to shift him to Singapore where he will get the better medical facility,” Shetty.

The decision to transfer him to Singapore was made shortly afterwards, the bdnews24.com reported.

WHY IS TINY COUNTRY IS BETTER THAN BHARTH HAVING SO MANY MORE MEDICAL COLLEGES ANY WHERE ELSE IN WORLD . THE REASON COULD BE THE QUALITY AND NOT THE QUANTITY THAT MATTERS . DOING A MECHANICAL OR TECHNICIAN JOB IS NOT ALL THE IMPORTANT ( IT IS MORE LIKE JEWELERS OR WATCH MAKERS OR DIAMOND CUTTER\’S JOB). THE REAL TEST OF TIME COMES WHEN IT COMES DEALING / HANDLING DIEING EMERGENCIES WITH , SIRS & MODS I THINK WE ARE NO WAY CLOSE TO IT WHEN IT COMES SUCH SITUATIONS . THAT\’S WHY SOME OF RICH & FAMOUS FROM CHENNAI, BANGALORE , DELHI, RUSH TO SINGAPORE , INSTEAD GETTING ADMITTED IN SO CALLED HI-TECH / SUPER SPEICILITY HOSPITALS OF OUR COUNTRY . I WISH MISS JAYALALITHAA WAS SENT TO SINGAPORE TO BE ALIVE EVEN TODAY . THERE WAS AS ARTICLE ABOUT OUR CRITICAL CARE SYSTEM . IT SEEMS THERE ARE MORE THAN 25000 ICU BEDS , WITH HARDLY 2000 REALLY QUALIFIED, WELL TRAINED , SKILLFUL , DYNAMIC,DEDICATED,,DOCTORS IN INDIA . WHAT I HEARD MORE THAN 30000000/ 3 million people / PATIENTS die every year in India due to wrong / MISMANAGEMENT . I THINK at least half a million people ON THE ICU BEDS . Unfortunately there is not much data / information available regarding such issues in our country – INDYAA.? . EXCEPT FOR PGI CHANDIGARH AND AIIMS NEW DELHI THERE IS HARDLY ANY THING NOTE WORTHY RESEARCH WORKS TAKING PLACE IN INDIA. WHEN YOU LOOK NAMES OF THE MEDICAL COLLEGES – IT – – – – INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES AND RESEARCH CENTRES . LIKE THE TITLES SOME OF RELIGIOUS LEADER / SHEERS. SRI SRI SRI PARAMA POOJYA JAGADGURU -. – – DHANA DHAN NANDHA NATHA JEEE…… FUNNEST PART OF IT , THERE ARE MEDICAL COLLEGES IN SUCH NAMES. THESE GUYS ARE HIGH-HANDED ARROGANT PROMOTERS OF THEIR CASTE , CULT AND CLAN HAVING ALL KINDS OF LUXURIES OF LIFE. QUITE DISGUSTING AND DISHEARTNING , SCIENCE TO BE IN SUCH PEOPLES CLUTCHES .
