Cabinet Nod: Over 1400 medical professionals to be recruited in Jharkhand via JPSC
513 posts of doctors at PMCH Dhanbad, 713 posts for MGM Jamshedpur, 94 posts of doctors for the super specialty section of PMCH, 3 posts in RIMS Ranchi, 154 posts at PHCs, 284 for paramedical staffs.
Ranchi: The State Cabinet has given its nod to the health department's proposal for the recruitment of over 1400 medical professionals through Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) at various Government hospitals, primary health centres and sub divisional hospitals.
The state administration took an account of the medical professionals’ crunch in the government sector, therefore provided the approval. Along with MBBS doctors, the JPSC will also recruit paramedical staffs as well.

After the cabinet meeting, a press conference was held where the State Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi informed, “To meet the shortage of doctors in the State, a total of 513 posts of doctors will be created for Patliputra Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) Dhanbad and 713 posts for MGM Medical College Jamshedpur. Also, 94 posts of doctors will be created for superspeciality section of PMCH, excluding the 513 posts,” reports pioneer .
“To improve administration in RIMS, Ranchi three posts have been created, that will include one additional director (administration), one additional director (finance) and one deputy director (finance),” said Chandravanshi, reports the HT .
The creation of posts for 154 health officers for primary health centres (PHC) and 284 posts of doctors and other staff including nurses, OT assistants, and others for 12 sub-divisional hospitals has also been sanctioned.
“In order to free the director and other doctors of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) from administrative works, two posts, additional director, finance and deputy director, finance will be created to look after the administration. This proposal has been sanctioned by the Cabinet,” Chandravanshi further added.
The Cabinet also approved the formation of Jharkhand Nurse Rules, 2019 for recruitment and promotion of nurses in the State.
