Agartala: In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old woman allegedly lost her life on Monday while undergoing treatment at Janapriya Medical Hall in Teliamura, sparking widespread public outrage and raising serious concerns about alleged medical negligence at the facility.
According to news reports, the deceased, a young mother, had visited a medical hall complaining of back pain. She was reportedly attended by a doctor who informed her that fluid needed to be urgently drained from her lungs.

AP: ASHA workers protest over unmet demands
Kakinada: Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers staged a protest on Monday by laying siege to the District Medical Health Officer's office in Andhra Pradesh, demanding that the state government address their long-pending demands.
Organised by the CITU, the Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) raised slogans against the state government for cheating them by going back on its election eve promise to implement welfare schemes for them.

NEET 2025: NTA Opposes Re-Exam Plea, Claims Power Outage did not impact performance
Indore: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has submitted that the one-hour power outage during the National Eligibility-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2025 examination at the examination centres in Indore did not affect the performance of the candidates, who had approached the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking relief.
Filing pleas before the HC bench, medical aspirants alleged that the power outage at the NEET exam centres across Indore affected their performance, and they had to complete their NEET UG 2025 exam using emergency lamps or candles.

Chhattisgarh HC rejects bail to man in Rs 411 crore Medical Equipment Scam
Bilaspur: Observing that granting bail would send a detrimental message to society, the Chhattisgarh High Court has rejected the bail plea of businessman Shashank Chopda, who is accused of playing a central role in a massive Rs 411 crore scam involving the supply of overpriced medical equipment and reagents under the state-run "Hamar Lab" scheme.
According to investigators, Chopda’s company, Mokshit Corporation, supplied medical machines and blood sample collection tubes to the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Ltd (CGMSCL) at highly inflated rates. For instance, EDTA tubes were reportedly sold at Rs 2,352 each, whereas their market price is barely Rs 8.50. The allegations also involved that Rs 300 crore worth of chemicals were purchased just to stop them from expiring, and that CBC machines worth Rs 5 lakh were sold for Rs 17 lakh.
