Delhi Doctor Starts fight against corruption in Medicine

Dr Avinash Kumar is a doctor with a cause. Currently, the H.O.D of Medicine department at Babu Jagjiwan Ram Hospital , he claims that he has been punished for being a whistleblower at the hands of corrupt medical system. Previously working in Aruna Asaf Ali hospital, he wrote to the CVC exposing the ongoing corruption at the hospital in the year 2013. Surprisingly he says, "my identity of whistle blower was disclosed by the Medical Superintendent of the said hospital and moreover Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), an apex body meant exclusively to fight against corruption had also disclosed my identity through violation of their own guidelines." This further, he claims, led to his transfer.
Un-detterent in his motives, he has launched a website called corruptionfile.com. The site contains many articles (many based on his personal experiences) highlighting the alleged corrupt practices at government hospitals in the capital, many relating to promotion and transfer of doctors, as well as issues in the procurements of essential medical supplies as well as medicines at the hospital. There are many articles as well, that raise questions on certain actions of the authorities at the health department, alleging them to be motivated and not following the protocols.
