DCI issues notice on Virtual Training For Tobacco Cessation In Dental Colleges, Check out details
New Delhi: National Resource Centre for Oral Health & Tobacco Cessation (NRCOHTC) is soon going to initiate virtual training of previously nominated faculty for tobacco cessation in Dental Colleges in a phase-wise manner, the Dental Council of India (DCI) announced through a written notification.
Each training module will include 30 faculties appointed from Dental College in India and 10 Dental Professionals working in Dental Clinics under National Oral Health Program. The NRC-OH-TC has prepared a list of nominated Dental facilities in charge of Tobacco Cessation Clinics in their respective institutions.
The training program is planned for 4 days commencing in August. In case if there is any change in the nominated faculty, the concerned principal of Dental Colleges will have to intimate DCI regarding the same. The last date to intimate is 15th July 2022. The intimation has to be given through mail nrc.tccmaids@gmail.com.
DCI has asked all the principals of Dental Colleges to direct the nominated faculty to attend the training program as per the schedule.

4. 10:30 - 10:50 - Role of Dental Health Professionals in Tobacco Cessation
5. 10:50 - 11:10 - Effects of Tobacco on Health and Oral Health and Impact of Tobacco on Dental Treatment Outcomes
6. 11:10 - 11:55 - Addiction Process and Measurement of Nicotine Dependence
7. 11:55 - 12:10 - Question and Answer Session
8. 12:10 – 12:20 – Quiz
9. 12:20 – 12:30 - Summarizing and concluding
Day 2 –

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has designated Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS), New Delhi, as the National Resource Centre for Oral & Tobacco Cessation (NRC-OH-TC). The resource center is a single point of contact for assistance in developing, implementing, and advancing the scope of Dental health professionals in tobacco cessation for addressing patient care, research and capacity building, and integration in Dental education.
