Doctors' Day: DCI issues direction for dental colleges
New Delhi: The Dental Council of India (DCI) has asked all the dental colleges across India to celebrate National Doctor's Day on 1st July 2022. The council has suggested a list of activities to be conducted.
As per the directives of the Government of India, it is mandatory for every dental college to celebrate/observe National Doctor's Day on 1st July, 2022 in collaboration with Dental Council of India and the Government of India. This year Government of India GOI will be celebrating the Doctor's Day by dedicating it to all the doctors and healthcare workers in the country who have been serving people. The Government of India has also given some suggested activities which can be carried out on that day.
The suggested list of activities -
A cultural event of recitations, songs and performances singing the glory of doctors of the country may be conducted in dental colleges and hospital.
Award for the doctor -
1. An award to be given to the doctors for their outstanding performance.
2. Award could be a certificate, a rose or anything which is found suitable and respectable for the award winner
3. Photos of the awards ceremony could be shared by all concerned in social media and popularized.
Exhibitions on: A day in the life of a doctor –
1. Some exhibition may also be arranged in the lobby and encourage people to interact with the doctors.
2. Selfie being taken by public with a doctor.
Visit by the doctors of local hospitals to schools, orphanages, old age homes –
Doctors and other health, staff to visit schools to do advocacy on -
1. Healthy living
2. COVID appropriate behavior, etc.
3. Sensitize how a doctor works in the hospitals to take care of them.
4. Specialized services to the under privileged in orphanages, old age home residents.
5. Selfie being taken by public with a doctor.
