Myths related to Diabetes and sugar control issue - Dr Pawan Begani - Video
Overview
Diabetes is a chronic health condition characterized by elevated blood sugar levels. It occurs when the body either doesn't produce enough insulin (a hormone that regulates blood sugar) or can't effectively use the insulin it produces.
It is crucial to worry about diabetes due to its potential impact on overall health. Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to serious complications such as heart disease, kidney damage, nerve issues, and vision problems. Additionally, diabetes increases the risk of infections and can adversely affect wound healing.
While managing blood sugar is crucial in diabetes, it's not the sole concern. Diabetes involves a complex interplay of factors, impacting various organs and systems. Beyond sugar control, it requires attention to lifestyle, diet, medication, and regular monitoring to prevent complications like cardiovascular issues, nerve damage, and kidney problems.
In this video, Dr Pawan Begani, a diabetologist from Surat, Gujrat, sheds light on diabetes and its complications while addressing the misconception that diabetes is only a sugar control issue.
