Before Joining KMCH as director he served the Dean Karpagam Faculty of Medical Sciences &Research, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India. He has also served as the Dean of Karuna Medical College, Madras Medical College, Coimbatore Medical College, and Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Salem Medical College in the past, while also serving as the Director of Medical Education, Government of Tamilnadu in 2008-09
