Clinical Perspectives of Fexofenadine and Pseudoephdrine in Indian Allergic Rhinitis Patients - Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva - Video
|
Overview
Allergic rhinitis is a common inflammatory condition of the upper airway associated with significant morbidity and reduced quality of life. It can be classified as seasonal or perennial, with seasonal allergic rhinitis commonly triggered by tree, grass, and weed pollens.
In this video, Dr Sanjay Sachdeva, Senior Consultant ENT, Max Hospital, Saket, discusses the challenges in managing allergic rhinitis, including persistent nasal congestion. He highlights how nasal decongestant sprays may cause dryness, crusting, and bleeding with prolonged use, while some oral antihistamines may cause sedation and affect daily activities.
He further explains the role of fexofenadine and pseudoephedrine combination therapy in providing relief from both allergic symptoms and nasal blockage. With rapid onset of action, the combination helps address congestion and improve symptom control, supporting better patient comfort and quality of life.
