Claim
The Medical Dialogues Fact Check Team came across a couple of posts on facebook containing a video, where it was claimed that Cardiologist Dr. Bimal Chhajer Died in a Car Explosion. A video shows News Anchor Rajat Sharma reporting that Dr. Bimal Chhajer was killed is being shared on social media. In the clip, the voice of Rajat Sharma says, "Today, following a controversial interview, Dr. Bimal's car exploded. Dr. Bimal had been fighting for justice for many years, often calling pharmaceutical companies deceitful and even foolish." In light of this incident, a policeman is talking about the incident. He says, "Dr. Bimal’s car was blown up, and he had been receiving threats before this tragic event. Unfortunately, we could not save Dr. Bimal Sajid. Currently, an investigation is underway to uncover the conspiracy behind the crime, and the search for the perpetrators continues."
Rajat Sharma in the video says that let's look at the last video by Dr. Bimal where he says, "The mafia threatens me, but I cannot remain silent. I am a doctor, and I have taken an oath to treat people, not to engage in crime. They threaten me because I developed a product that is not beneficial to them. They profit from your illnesses."

The Medical Dialogues Fact Check Team also counter-checked the video. The research was conducted using the reverse search image of the frames that were involved in the video. The reverse image search was done using Google Lens.
A reverse image search of the frame from the viral video featuring news anchor Rajat Sharma traced it to a news report uploaded on India TV’s YouTube channel on October 2, 2024. In this video, Rajat Sharma appears wearing the same outfit as in the viral clip, delivering updates about the Israel-Iran conflict. The video contains no information about Dr Bimal.
Another screenshot from the video was reverse-searched using Google Lens, revealing that it came from a viral clip featuring a police officer. This led us to a video uploaded on The Statesman's Facebook page on September 28, 2024. In the video, Kashmir’s IGP VK Birdi discusses the Kulgam encounter. Once again, there is no mention of Dr. Bimal Chhajed in the original video.
A Google Lens search of another screenshot from the viral clip featuring Dr. Bimal Chhajed traced it to a podcast video uploaded on July 20, 2024, on the YouTube channel “GetsetflySCIENCE by Gaurav Thakur.” It is found that the audio in the viral clip has been manipulated.
