Four PHCs found locked during night inspection in Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu: Four primary health centres (PHCs) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir were found locked during a late night inspection, an official spokesperson said .
Disciplinary action has been initiated against the medical staff posted at PHC Shahdara Sharif, Lah, Laroka and Bagla, the spokesperson said.
He said District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad has constituted special squads of revenue officers and field staff for carrying out the inspections to check the availability of doctors and other healthcare facilities.
Taking serious note, Asad ordered to withhold salaries of all the employees of locked PHCs and directed the chief medical officer to initiate disciplinary action against the staff.
Asad paid a surprise visit to the district hospital and inspected emergency, gynaecology, surgical, medical and pediatric wards and sick newborn care unit, the spokesperson said.
He said the special squads also inspected sub-district hospitals at Nowshera and Sunderbani, community health centres at Kalakote, Kandi, Thanamandi and Darhal and nearly a dozen other PHCs in the district.
