Flufenamic Acid is Non- Steroidal Ant inflammatory Drugs belonging to Analgesic and Anti inflammatory agents.
Flufenamic Acid is used in the treatment to relieve pain associated with rheumatoid diseases.
Flufenamic Acid shows common side effects like Dyspepsia, nausea, abdominal pain and discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, indigestion, epigastric distress, stomatitits, anorexia; peripheral oedema; headache, dizziness.
Flufenamic Acid is available in Tablets, Capsule and cream.

Flufenamic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Inhibits calcium-activated chloride channels (CaCCs). Also increases currents through TRPC6 channels and inhibits currents through TRPC3 and TRPC7 channels.

Flufenamic Acid is approved for use in the following clinical indications
Pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders
Pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders
Adult: Apply as a topical preparation at 3% or 3.5%.
Flufenamic Acid is available in the dosage strength of Capsule 100 mg and cream 3g/100g.
Flufenamic Acid is available in the form of Capsule and cream.
Flufenamic Acid is contraindicated in patients with:
Hypersensitivity to aspirin or any other NSAIDs. Porphyria, active peptic ulceration.
Common Adverse effects:
Dyspepsia, nausea, abdominal pain and discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, indigestion, epigastric distress, stomatitits, anorexia; peripheral oedema; headache, dizziness.
Less Common Adverse effects:
Allergic reactions, asthma, bronchospasm, dyspnoea, rash, pruritus; decreased Hb, anaemia, thrombocytopenia, non-thrombocytopenic purpura, leucopenia, eosinophilia, epistaxis
Rare Adverse effects
Increased serum transaminase levels; swollen eyes, blurred vision, eye irritation, malaise, tinnitus; oedema, HTN, cardiac failure.
May enhance the effects of oral anticoagulants, phenytoin and sulphonylureas. May increase plasma concentrations of lithium, methotrexate, and cardiac glycosides. Increased risk of hyperkalaemia with ACE inhibitors and potassium-sparing diuretics. May reduce antihypertensive action of some antihypertensives such as ACE inhibitors. May increase the risk of convulsions with quinolones.
