Levocloperastine is available in India, Germany, Canada, Italy.
Levocloperastine is a cough suspension that contains levocloperastine. It is used for the treatment of a dry cough. The medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 2 years of age. It dissolves the thick mucus formed in the air passages making it easier for you to cough it out. It suppresses the cough by blocking the activity of cough centres in your brain.
Levocloperastine is available in the form of syrup and suspension.
Levocloperastine is indicated for use in the treatment of dry cough.
Levocloperastine contains an anti-tussive (cough suppressants) medication primarily used to treat dry cough. Cough is a reflex action that helps to clear any foreign irritant or mucus in the throat. Mostly cough lasts for a short time (two to three weeks), so it is acute. But sometimes, if it is persistent for more than eight weeks, it can lead to chronic cough. Dry cough refers to a cough where there is no mucus or secretion along with cough.
Levocloperastine is approved for use in the following clinical indications

Pharmacodynamic
Levocloperastine contains an anti-tussive (cough suppressants) medication primarily used to treat dry cough. Cough is a reflex action that helps to clear any foreign irritant or mucus in the throat. Mostly cough lasts for a short time (two to three weeks), so it is acute. But sometimes, if it is persistent for more than eight weeks, it can lead to chronic cough. Dry cough refers to a cough where there is no mucus or secretion along with cough.
It works by blocking the cough receptor present in the brain, which is known to cause cough. Levocloperastine is generally prescribed for short-term treatment of dry cough. It does not treat chronic cough or cough caused due to smoking, emphysema and asthma.
