Liquorice belongs to the therapy class of Expectorants.
The common side effects of Liquorice are pseudo aldosteronism, which can cause a person to become very sensitive to a hormone in the adrenal cortex, headaches, fatigue,high blood pressure, and heart attacks.

Liquorice increases the respiratory tract secretions by decreasing surface tension and thereby decreases the viscosity of mucus, which aids in the removal of the mucus.
Liquorice has been approved for relieving symptoms as well as also for the treatment and maintenance of episodes of mucolytic expectorant for cough and sore throat.
Liquorice is available in solutions and tablets.
Liquorice can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
