Oxyphenbutazone is a Analgesic and Antipyretic belonging to Non-Steroidal anti-inflammatory Drug
Oxyphenbutazone is used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle pain and gout.

Oxyphenbutazone is a p-hydroxy analog and one of the active metabolites of phenylbutazone with a marked anti-inflammatory effect. Its potential for serious toxicity, however, limits its use in long-term therapy.

Oxyphenbutazone is approved for use in the following clinical indications
osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle pain and gout.
Oxyphenbutazone is available in the dosage strength of 100 mg.
Oxyphenbutazone is available in the form of tablets.
Take after eating and with a full glass of water to decrease gastric upset.
- Common Adverse effects: Vomiting, Indigestion, Flatulence, Nausea, Abdominal Pain, Constipation, Epigastric Pain
- Less Common Adverse effects: Pain/Tenderness in the Pit of Stomach, Abdominal Pain, Diarrhea Accompanied
- Rare Adverse Effects: Sore Throat, Fever, Bleeding Tendency
Reduces antihypertensive actions of ACE inhibitors, β-blockers and diuretics. Raises levels of phenytoin, lithium. Serum concentrations increased by methandienone. Absorption delayed by TCAs.
Potentially Fatal: Enhances activities of oral anticoagulants, hydantoins and oral hypoglycaemic agents.
