Saroglitazar is an Antidiabetic Agent belonging to pharmacology class of Glitazar.
Saroglitazar can be used in the treatment of Diabetes mellitus, type 2, treatment.
The common side effects associated with Saroglitazar include Stomach pain ,Nausea, Vomiting, Chest pain, Fever, Dizziness.
Saroglitazar is available in the form of Tablet.
The molecule is available in India, USA, Japan, Germany.
Saroglitazar works by managing high cholesterol and triglycerides, along with blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes. Its unique mechanism reduces the synthesis and secretion of triglycerides, improving insulin sensitivity for better utilization and lowering blood sugar levels.
Saroglitazar is available in the form of Tablet.
Saroglitazar can be used in the Dyslipidemia and hypertriglyceridemia associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus not controlled by statin therapy.

- Pregnancy
Saroglitazar is not recommended during pregnancy as it may harm your foetus.
- Breast-feeding
It is not known if Saroglitazar passes into breastmilk. Therefore, this medicine is not recommended while breastfeeding unless necessary.
General warnings
- Liver Impairment
Saroglitazar should be used with caution if you have impaired liver function due to the increased risk of side effects.
- Kidney Impairment
Saroglitazar should be used with caution if you have impaired kidney function due to the increased risk of side effects.
- Heart Failure
Congestive heart failure is a condition in which your heart is unable to pump a sufficient amount of blood. Saroglitazar should be used with extreme caution if you have a history of congestive heart failure.
- Use in children
Saroglitazar is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy data are not clinically established.
Alcohol Warning
There is no sufficient scientific evidence traceable regarding use and safety of Saroglitazar in concurrent use with alcohol.
The adverse reactions related to Saroglitazar can be categorized as:
Common Adverse effects:
Stomach pain ,Nausea, Vomiting, Chest pain, Fever, Dizziness.
Less Common Adverse effects:
Asthenia.
Rare Adverse effects:
Lactic acidosis.
