Tulobuterol belongs to the pharmacological class of long-acting Beta 2-adrenergic agonists. Tulobuterol appears to have bronchodilating properties.

Tulobuterol is available in the form of oral tablets and transdermal patches.
Tulobuterol is available in Japan, Germany, China, South Korea, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Venezuela, and India.

Tulobuterol can be used in the treatment of :
- Asthma
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Tulobuterol is being studied for the following indications:
- Asthma

Oral: To be swallowed with water as a whole
Transdermal patches: To be pasted on the surface of the skin
Oral
Bronchodilator
Adult: Initially, 1-2 mg bid, increase to 2 mg tid if necessary.
Child: 1-6 yr: 0.25-0.5 mg bid, 6-10 yr: 0.5-1 mg bid, 10-14 yr: 1-1.5 mg bid.
Transdermal
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Adult: 2 mg as transdermal patch once daily. To be used with anti-inflammatory therapy.
Tulobuterol may be contraindicated under the following conditions:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the medication
- Pheochromocytoma
The adverse effects related to Tulobuterol can be categorized as follows:
- Nervous tension
- Headache
- A fine tremor of skeletal muscle
- Palpitations
- Muscle cramps
- Tachycardia
- Peripheral vasodilatation
- Hypersensitivity reactions.
The clinically relevant drug interactions of Tulobuterol are briefly summarized here:
Increased risk of arrhythmia with digoxin. Hypokalaemia with the concomitant admin of xanthines, corticosteroids, and diuretics.
The common side effects of Tulobuterol include the following:
