Gurgaon: Doctor Arrested For Allegedly Raping Nurse
GURGAON: A 35 year old medical practitioner from Gurgaon has been arrested for allegedly raping a nurse on pretext of marrying her, police said. An FIR was registered a few months back by the nurse alleging doctor Girish Ojha had sexually assaulted her. According the to complaint, the woman had befriended the doctor while she was studying at SGT University in Chandu-Budhera . Her complaint stated that the doctor raped her multiple times after promising marriage.
"The doctor, was absconding after the complaint, and he has been arrested from Allahabad. We are grilling him after getting him on three days police remand," said a senior police officer.
Both the accused and the survivor worked at a private city hospital.
It is reported that according to a judgement of Delhi high court, “entering into a sexual relationship with a woman after making her a false promise of marriage amounts to rape.”
