Mental Health is vital for overall health and well-being- Ft. Miss Aanandita Vaghani - Video
Overview
The 10th of October every year is celebrated as World Mental Health Day. On this occasion, the Medical Dialogues team interacted with Miss Aanandita Vaghani, a Mental Health Counselor.
According to the WHO, World Mental Health Day 2023 is an opportunity for people and communities to unite behind the theme ‘Mental health is a universal human right” to improve knowledge, raise awareness, and drive actions that promote and protect everyone’s mental health as a universal human right.
Good mental health is vital to our overall health and well-being. Yet one in eight people globally are living with mental health conditions, which can impact their physical health, their well-being, how they connect with others and their livelihoods. Mental health conditions are also affecting an increasing number of adolescents and young people.
So to talk to us on this note in detail, we have Miss Aanandita Vaghani, a Mental Health Counselor.
Miss Aanandita holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Wesleyan University in CT, USA. Having worked in settings with children and adolescents alike, Aanandita learned how emotions and our perceptions of them start at an early age. While pursuing an MA in Counselling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University, she has learned how to deploy emotion in her interactions with clients, to empower them and change the way they see relationships and the world around them.
Miss Aanandita provides her valuable insights in the following areas:-
1. What types of mental health issues or conditions are routinely observed?
2. How can we reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues?
3. What are some common misconceptions about mental health that need to be addressed?
4. How can individuals promote their own mental well-being in their daily lives?
5. What role can families and friends play in supporting someone with mental health challenges?
6. How can workplaces create a more mentally healthy environment for employees?
7. What are some effective ways to manage stress and anxiety in today`s fast-paced world?
8. How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected mental health on a global scale, and what lessons have we learned?
9. How can young people be encouraged to prioritize and take care of their mental health?
10. What self-care practices or daily routines are recommended for maintaining good mental health?
