52,690 PG admissions listed- NMC tells 2025-26 batch MD, MS, Diploma medicos to check details, report missing names

New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked all students admitted to MD, MS and Diploma Broad Speciality courses for the academic year 2025-26 to check whether their names are reflected in the official admission list uploaded on the Commission's website.
The direction comes after the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) found that some medical colleges had either failed to upload admission details or submitted incomplete data, despite repeated public notices and extensions granted for compliance.
According to the NMC, a total of 52,690 postgraduate students admitted for the academic year 2025-26 currently have their details uploaded on the Commission’s portal. The Board has now asked all students pursuing MD/MS/Diploma Broad Speciality courses to cross-check the list and ensure that their admission has been correctly recorded.
The Commission had earlier directed medical colleges to upload details of postgraduate admissions in accordance with the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023, which prescribe the conditions and modalities for PG admissions through common counselling.
Colleges were initially asked to complete the process by April 15, 2025, with the timeline later extended up to June 8, 2026.
However, the Board noted that compliance remained incomplete in some institutions.
In the latest communication, NMC has mentioned that any student who was admitted to a postgraduate Broad Speciality course for AY 2025-26 but does not find his or her name in the uploaded list should immediately approach the concerned Directorate of Medical Education or Counselling Authority through the respective medical college.
The move is aimed at ensuring that admission records maintained by the Commission accurately reflect all students who joined postgraduate medical courses during the academic year.
The notice has been addressed to all students admitted to postgraduate medical education Broad Speciality courses in medical colleges and institutions under NMC and has also been circulated to State and Union Territory medical education departments, Directorates of Medical Education and the PGMEB for necessary action.
