NEET Counselling to begin soon, NMC allows due renewal, recognition to Medical Colleges based on affidavit
New Delhi: With the NEET 2022 results declared yesterday, it is anticipated that the counselling process for MBBS admissions will begin later this month or next month. Given this timeline, ensuring that the counselling does not get delayed any further, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has allowed the due renewal of permission and recognition or continuation of recognition to all medical colleges based on certain conditions
These permissions and recognitions will be allowed based on a sworn affidavit for the academic year 2022-2023 duly signed by the medical colleges' authorities. However, the NMC warned the institutes that surprise inspections will be conducted as per their track record and decisions will be taken according to the assessment reports.
Separate notifications of these effects have been issued by Dr BN Gangadhar, President and Dr JL Meena, Member of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board on the official website of NMC.
NMC allows Renewal of Permission:
As the counselling of NEET (UG) is going to start in the month of September/October 2022, there are colleges where we are waiting for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th renewals, for all of them, it has been decided to give allow of renewal of permission on the basis of sworn affidavit for the academic year 2022-2023.
NMC allows due recognition and continuation of recognition:
The medical colleges, their recognition and continuation of recognition are due, for all of them, it has been decided to give recognition and continuation or recognition on the basis of sworn affidavit for the academic year 2022-23.
"However, random surprise inspections may be carried out on the basis of the track record of the medical colleges for the Academic Year 2022-2023 and on the basis of the inspection reports decision will be taken, the NMC notices further stated.
Recently, bringing relief to foreign medicos hit by the Russia-Ukraine war, the apex medical regulator has given its 'No Objection' to the Academic Mobility Programme for Indian medical students who are enrolled in Ukraine medical institutes provided that other criteria of Screening Test Regulations 2002 are fulfilled. With this, all such medicos who had returned from war-torn Ukraine will now be allowed to relocate to universities in other countries and complete their studies.
The NMC agreed to recognise the programme offered by Ukraine to allow such students to complete their education as the degree will be awarded by the parent Ukrainian university only.
According to the NMC Act, students studying in foreign medical colleges are required to complete their education and obtain a degree from a single university only.
