NMC Gives application deadline to FMGE December 2024 Candidates For Eligibility Certificates
New Delhi: The upcoming Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) is going to be held in December 2024 and the candidates, who have not yet obtained Eligibility Certificates, have to apply for the same by 4th November 2024, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified.
As per the notice issued by the NMC in this regard on 10.09.2024, the window to apply for the Eligibility Certificates started from 05.09.2024 at 09:30 AM onwards.
Clarifying it to be the last opportunity to apply for Eligibility Certificates, the Commission has asked all the candidates to apply after making due diligence and checking the requisite entries carefully before applying.
It is mandatory for the MBBS graduates from abroad to obtain an eligibility certificate to appear for the mandatory screening test i.e. FMGE, clearing which is a must for the candidates to register themselves as registered medical practitioners.
Highlighting this, NMC EMRB mentioned in its notice, "The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) Screening Test may be scheduled tentatively in the month of December 2024 by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. Candidates must possess the eligibility certificate issued by the National Medical Commission to apply for the Screening Test, as per the specified requirements."
"Candidates who have not yet obtained the Eligibility Certificate need to apply for it through the National Medical Commission's website following the schedule provided below:" it further mentioned.
Schedule to Apply for Eligibility Certificates:
Processes | Timelines |
Online Submission of Application | 5th September, 2024 (09:30 AM Onwards) |
Last Date for Submission of Application | 04th November 2024 (Till 06:00 PM) |
Incomplete applications will not be processed and shall be summarily rejected. Thereafter the portal for applying the application shall be closed. |
"It may be noted that this is the last opportunity to apply for the Eligibility Certificates and thereafter no further chance would be available to the candidates to apply for the Eligibility Certificates. Accordingly, all candidates are requested to submit application after making due diligence and checking the requisite entries scrupulously before submitting the application. An Advisory in this connection would also be issued separately shortly by Registration EMRB and would be available on the website of NMC," the notice by EMRB further stated.
The Commission also specified that the applicants could inquire about the Eligibility application's status at: eligibility.regn@nmc.org.in & eligibility.nmc.org.in.
"...however, while making such enquiries, all the candidates are requested to invariably provide their File Tracking Number, which was generated while submitting the application to NMC for issuance of Eligibility Certificate. It may please be noted that no response would be sent to the candidate in the absence of File Tracking Number," NMC mentioned.
It also clarified that the candidates who have already submitted the application for issuance of the Eligibility Certificate to NMC in the past, they need not apply again.
Referring to the EMRB notice dated 03.09.2024, NMC Secretary Dr B Srinivas issued a notice yesterday stating, "Reference is invited to Public Notice no. R.15015/(Gen.)(34)/2024- Regn./ dated 03-09-2024 (copy enclosed) by the Registration Section of Ethics and Medical Registration Board on the subject mentioned above, the contents of which are self- explanatory. All concerned stakeholders are requested to kindly take note of the same."
