NMC launches online ethics appeal portal for doctors

New Delhi: For a faster and more transparent appeal process, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has launched an online Ethics Appeal Portal for Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs).
From now on, doctors can file ethics-related appeals against the decisions of State Medical Councils (SMCs) under Section 30(3) & 2nd Appeal to the NMC against the decision of EMRB under Section 30(4) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 through this online portal.
The public notice issued by the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) on July 23, 2026, mentioned, "It is hereby informed to all Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) that to facilitate transparent and expeditious processing of Appeals, National Medical Commission (NMC), has launched an Online Ethics Appeal Portal for facilitating filing of First Appeals by RMPs against the decisions of State Medical Councils (SMCs) under Section 30(3) & 2nd Appeal to the NMC against the decision of EMRB under Section 30(4) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019."
Doctors can access the appeal facility by clicking on the Appeal icon on the NMC website or by logging into their respective NMC accounts. The appeal portal can also be accessed directly at the link mentioned in the notice.
Further, NMC informed that with effect from the date of publication of this notice, all Ethics Appeals under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 should be filed by RMPs only through this Online Appeal Portal of NMC.
The Commission also noted that appeals are often rendered deficient on account of non-submission of requisite documents. It has advised stakeholders to carefully upload all the relevant documents while filing the appeal through the online portal.
"Consequent upon the operationalization of the Online Appeal Portal, the earlier mode of filing appeals through physical mode or through email communication shall be discontinued," the notice added.
