New Delhi: To ensure that admissions to postgraduate courses have been made in accordance with judicial decisions and relevant regulations, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges and institutions to upload details of postgraduate admissions made through NEET PG 2025 on its online portal for the academic year 2025-26.

The Commission has set April 8, 2026, as the last date to submit the data.

Writing to the Director of Directorate of Medical Education of all States and Principal/Dean of all the Medical Colleges, the Postgraduate Medical Education Bard (PGMEB) of the NMC on 30.3.2026 stated that all colleges must ensure that admissions to PG courses including MD, MS, PG Diploma, DM, and MCh are strictly in accordance with merit and are made in a transparent and fair manner as envisaged in the Regulations.

The board warned that any violation of admission rules will lead to the discharge of the concerned students from the courses and legal action against the concerned medical college or institution.

To streamline the process, the PG board has asked institutions to submit the details of all student admissions through its online system available on the official website

"The National Medical Commission has been set up by an Act of Parliament, namely, the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, in September, 2020. As per, Section 61(2) of National Medical Commission Act, 2019, “Notwithstanding the repeal of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, the educational standards, requirements and other provision of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and the rules and regulations made thereunder shall continue to be in force and operate till new standards or requirements are specified under this Act or the rules and regulations made thereunder.” Admission to the Postgraduate courses (PG Diploma, MD/MS, DM & M.Ch.) has to be made in accordance with judicial decisions and MCI/NMC Regulations," read the notice.

PGMEB instructed the medical colleges to use their existing login credentials to access the portal and upload the required information within the stipulated time. No hard copy submission will be required.

The notice further added, "Already existing login id is to be used for the purpose of logging in. Through this unique login id, all the medical colleges/institutions must submit the admission details of postgraduate students within the stipulated time beyond which the Colleges/Institutions will not be allowed to enter the details of the students onto the Student Admission Online Monitoring System for the current academic year. The Colleges/Institutes need not send hardcopy of the data of admission in PG Courses. Data uploaded through the Student Admission Entry portal shall be the only data used for the purpose of monitoring students’ admission."

If the login ID is not functional or if the Medical College/Institutions find it difficult to log in, the board asked them to send an email with the subject heading, “Difficulty in logging in.”

The following guidelines shall be followed by the Colleges/Institutions:-

i. Please visit the NMC website home page by using the URL as https://www.nmc.org.in/and refer to the “COLLEGE LOGIN” section using the URL

ii. A login screen will be displayed.

iii. Use the login credentials. Remember that the Password and the Unique ID are case sensitive. Provision is there to change the password by clicking on the “Forgot password” link. Password should be kept confidential.

The onus of furnishing true, correct and authentic information is upon the College concerned and in case of furnishing of any wrong/incorrect information, it shall be open to NMC to initiate action as is permissible in law.

Directorate of Medical Education of all the States/UTs will also submit the details of admission made in their concerned State/UT through mail within two weeks of the last date of admission.

In case of any difficulty in accessing NMC website, an email may be sent to the mentioned email address.

The details of the students who have taken admission to the PG courses as per the data filled in by the Colleges are placed on the NMC's website. However, the names of those students whose details are not filled in by the Colleges/ Institutes within the last date of submission of data on NMC's portal will not be displayed on the NMC's website. Hence, the onus of furnishing the correct data on time lies with the College/ Institute.

The portal for filling in the student details shall remain open till 08.04.2026.

Referring to the PGMEB notice, the Commission, in a letter to its stakeholders on 01.04.2026 mentioned, "Kind reference is invited to the Public Notice No. N-P050 (20)/30/2025-PGMEBNMC dated 30-03-2026 (copy enclosed) issued by the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB)’ of National Medical Commission (NMC) regarding online filling of information relating to admissions made in Medical College/Postgraduate Institute through NEET-PG-2025 on the Admission Monitoring Portal, which shall remain open till 08.04.2026. All the concerned institutions are requested to kindly take note of the same for further necessary action."
