“Unaccounted tax receipts and tampering/fudging of record books and accounts are some of the things we are investigating,” an I-T official told HT.

During the raids no patients or their relatives were allowed to enter the hospital, the Income-tax department began their raid from the accounts department and later seized the files and computer hard disk to examine.

There were few doctors who could not provide the documents. It is a normal not a exception that professional people like doctors , lawyers , charted accountants , architects almost all too generate a certain amount of undislosed income . Best way is to plug all the loop holes where they invest such income .

  2. While doctors are too busy in treating patients , delivering medical talks and doing social services , they lack behind in maintaining records ( Both patient records and accounting documents ). Doctors also put their faith blindly on accountants who take them for a ride. There must be a course on how to maintain records and do accounting during MBBS curriculum which at times become more important than treating patients.

  3. more raids must be conducted on doctors hiding their income and not paying income taxes. doctors must pay income tax on their earnings.
