New Delhi: With a history of bringing new diagnostic technologies into the country’s healthcare sector, north India’s leading medical imaging chain, Mahajan Imaging recently unveiled its new centre in Gurugram.
This centre has been set up with a vision to blend the best technology in the world with an environment of healing. Equipped with cutting edge diagnostic imaging devices such as the Ingenia 3T from Philips, an Advanced 3.0 Tesla Wide-Bore MRI with an In-Bore Audio-Visual System and the Amulet Innovality, a Full Field Digital Mammography with Tomosynthesis & Stereotactic Biopsy System, under the able guidance of some of India’s best doctors - all delivered in a calm and relaxing environment, Mahajan Imaging at Gurugram is ready to bring to residents of the city the most refined and high tech diagnostic imaging and care available in the world today.
Awareness about issues related to women’s and their diagnosis has always been at the heart of the company’s ethos. In order to make this cause actionable, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Mahajan Imaging brought together known personalities from around the country to its Gurugram centre for a panel discussion today. The discussion focused on education and awareness of current day women’s health issues and diagnosis.
The launch also saw discussion aboutAwareness about issues related to women’s and their diagnosis. The discussion was led by Ms. Sharmila Tagore, Veteran Actress, who spoke on the need for the awareness of women’s health issues across the society. She said that the need of the hour was the emancipation of women in totality through right lifestyle, food, timely screening, diagnosis and treatment.
A panel of specialist doctors at Mahajan Imaging brought to focus the importance of Mammography in cancer screening and early prevention that can increase longevity and quality of life.
Building on the company’s experience of the last 25 years through which they have learnt that “feeling well” is the first crucial step one can take towards a healthier lifestyle, Mrs Ritu Mahajan, Executive Director at Mahajan Imaging said, "Nobody comes to us in a happy frame of mind and our attempt is to make our patients just a little bit happier by creating an environment of positivity. The imaging centre is designed to look completely non-medical allaying the anxiety that is generally associated with a visit to a medical centre”. “Most patients at our other centres generally comment on how the unconventional interiors help them go through their scans in a relatively stress-free way. We hope to push the boundaries of how different a medical centre can be with this centre in Gurugram", she added. Together with Dr Sanjay Chugh, Senior Consultant Neuro-Psychiatrist, on the panel today, Mrs Mahajan explored the role of patient comfort and anxiety management in delivering diagnostic care in India.
Dr Harsh Mahajan, Chief Radiologist and Founder at Mahajan Imaging, Honorary Radiologist to President of India and Padma Shri Awardee, concluded the session on a cautionary and thought provoking note as he stressed on the importance of routine health monitoring and check-ups in early prevention and detection. “While it is easy to procure and install any new medical technology, the key to the technology’s success lies in its actual utilisation. Our attempt is to educate women about the latest screening and diagnostic tools at their disposal, so that the high-end equipment is put to good use, eventually improving both longevity and quality of life”, he said.
“Take mammography for example, we have the world’s most advanced system at our centre, but it is useless unless women come in and use it. It is recommended that all ladies above the age of 40 get a mammogram done once every 2 years, but either because of the taboo associated with breast cancer, or extremely busy schedules, no one takes out even a few minutes for this simple test”, he added.
