Biological E. Limited (BE) was founded during India's 'Swadeshi Movement,' at a period when the country needed access to crucial healthcare items.
Biological E. Limited, founded and headed by Dr. DVK Raju, began operations in 1953 as a biological goods firm producing liver extracts and anti-coagulants. With the goal of moving from disease treatment to preventing them, Biological E. Limited established its Biotechnology Division (now Vaccinations and Biologics Division) in 1962 and began large-scale manufacture of DPT vaccines.
Branded Formulations, Specialty Generic Injectables, Synthetic Biology and Vaccines, and Biologics are the four strategic business groups of Biological E. Limited, which is still growing.

Mahima Datla:
Mahima Datla has been with Biological E. Limited since 2001 and is currently its Managing Director. During this period, she has been involved in project management, building quality systems and driving operations at the company. She engages with the Government of India and GAVI on public policy. Mahima has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Management from Webster University, London.
