Aristo Pharmaceuticals Private Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Mumbai. The company was founded by Mahendra Prasad and was incorporated on 8 November, in the year 1971. Mahendra Prasad had humble beginnings and was the son of a farmer. After receiving his education from a college in Patna, he also worked as a teacher. But he had ambitions of starting a business of his own since a very young age and hence, he left for Mumbai to do the same. In Mumbai, he started working in a small pharma business with his fellow Samprada Singh, who later became the founder of Alkem Laboratories. Samprada Singh was also from Jehanabad. Prasad’s company started its operation as an independent company with the establishment of its first manufacturing facility at Aurangabad in Maharashtra in the year 1972. At that time, the company had only a total number of thirty employees. By the year 1971, Prasad had fulfilled his ambition of starting his own company called Aristo Pharmaceuticals Private Limited. The company has a total number of five marketing divisions.Prasad was also a prominent figure in the Indian politics and started his career in politics in the year 1980. He was the owner of Aristo Pharmaceuticals, Indchemie Health Specialties and Mapra Laboratories Pvt Ltd. All the three companies are headquartered in Mumbai.

The company specializes in the areas of cardiology, dietetics, disease and infection, elderly care, gynecology, hematology, ICU, obstetrics, orthopedic, pediatrics, anti-tuberculosis, anti-hypertensive, anti-malarial, anti-scabies, anti-diabetics and anti-diarrheal.
