FDC Private Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Mumbai. The company was founded by Anand Chandravarkar as a partnership firm in 1936 to import infant nutritionals, medicines and surgical tools in India. The company was previously known by the name ‘The Fairdeal Corporation’. It was incorporated as a private limited company under the name Fairdeal Corporation Pvt. Ltd Company in 1940 and as a Public Limited Company in 1988. The company’s name was changed to FDC Pvt. Ltd in 1986. The company started off with the marketing of prescription drugs and vitamins and went on to establish its first production unit at Jogeshwari in Mumbai in 1949. The company entered the ophthalmology and ENT areas in the year 1963 with the launch of their Vanmycetin Eye Drops. In 1972, the company introduced its oral rehydration product called Electral.

The company specializes in the areas of nutraceuticals, anti–spasmodics, ophthalmics, anti-infectives, gastrointestinal disorders, antiemetic, respiratory disorders, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, antibiotics, anti–oxidants, anti fungals, dermatology and oral rehydration salts.

The company has its manufacturing facilities located at Roha (1976), Waluj (1988), Goa I (1999), II (2002) and III (2004), Sinar (1998 and 2014) and Baddi (2006). The company exports products to several countries like US, UK, UAE, Europe, Columbia, New Zealand, Germany, Spain, South Africa and Japan. FDC Inc. USA and FDC International Ltd UK are the two fully owned subsidiaries of the company. It also has a Joint Venture business in South Africa by the name Fair Deal Corporation Pharmaceutical SA (Pty) Ltd. which was started in the year 2019.The company’s has two specialty divisions called the Dilse and Pixel. The former division deals with cardiovascular and anti-diabetic formulations of the company while the latter division deals with the company’s aim of reaching to top ophthalmologists. The company launched its balanced energy drink called 'ENERZAL' that was provided to the participants of the Mumbai Marathon held in the year 2015. FDC Private Limited is also a leader in the production of Electral, a famous therapy for oral rehydration.
