Gufic Biosciences Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The company was founded by Shri Pannalal Choksi in the year 1970. The Choksi family has been associated with the Indian pharmaceutical industry for quite a long time. Gufic Biosciences Limited was created as the outcome of a reverse merger of the company with Central Finance when the founder family of Gufic Biosciences Limited took control of the other and got itself listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The Choksi family and the Gandhi family decided to establish a joint venture company known by the name Lyka Labs in the year 1960. However, they made a decision to get separated and the Choksi family got control of the manufacturing facility. This was how the Gufic group of companies came into existence. It was incorporated on the 23rd of July in the year 1984. The company was earlier called the Gujarat Fine Chemicals and Gufic Pharma Private Limited. The Gufic group started off by producing several bulk pharmaceuticals as well as injectable products and went on to make an entry into the formulation market. It also made a presence in herbal products. The Gufic group had quit from the business of its API and formulations manufacturing division by selling six of its relevant brands to Ranbaxy in the year 1997. However, it went back to the same through the incorporation of Gufic Biosciences Limited.

The company specializes in the therapy areas of fertility management, antibiotics, critical care, personal care, cardiac disorders and oncology. It also offers Ayurvedic and plant based formulations.

Gufic Biosciences Limited has its manufacturing facilities located in India at Navsari, Baroda and Belgaum. It also manufactures pharmaceutical products on contract basis for several big Indian companies such as the Mumbai-based Abbott Laboratories.
