Natco Pharma Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The company was founded by C. V. Nannapaneni in the year 1981. It was incorporated in the same year under the name Natco Fine Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. The company was renamed as Natco Pharma Ltd. in 1993.Nannapaneni was a formulation scientist and had returned from the US. The company had a turbulent history with him and even after a lot of struggle the company could not achieve its goals. It was almost about to be referred to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction but then the condition of the company improved slightly and the main brands of the company were sold to Sun Pharma in the year 1998. The company was now a manufacturer on contract basis. The break for the company happened in the year 2000 with the entry of the founder’s son Rajeev in Natco Pharma. To compete with major competitors and to resolve all its issues, he adopted the policy of partnership and collaborated with several big companies like Dr. Reddy’s and Mylan. Natco Pharma is a leading pharmaceutical company in the segment of oncology. The oncology division of the company was launched in the year 2003. The company at the time of its inception had a capital of 3.3 million rupees and had a total number of twenty employees. The Pharma Division was one of the first divisions to start operations. It was followed by several other divisions. In the first year since its inception, the company had a sale of half million rupees. The company got its first manufacturing facility in the year 1986 at Nagarjunasagar in Telangana. The company has Para IV products also.
