Panacea Biotec Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. The company was founded by Soshil Kumar Jain in the year 1984. Jain entered the pharmaceutical industry of the country when he started working at his father’s pharmacy. Apart from a number of companies with which Jain was associated, he was also an employee at Radicura & Co. which was a partnership company and was taken later on by Radicura & Co. With more than fifty-six long years of experience in the industry, he decided to start his own company in 1984. Panacea Biotec Limited was incorporated on the on 2nd of February in the year 1984. The company at the time of its establishment was called Panacea Drugs Pvt. Ltd. However, it underwent a change in name from Panacea Drugs Pvt. Ltd. to its current one Panacea Biotec Ltd. in the year 1993. This was done after the occurrence of a merger that took place between the companies Panacea Drugs Pvt. Ltd. and the Delhi-based pharmaceutical company Radicura Pharmaceuticals. The company is involved in the production and marketing of formulations, vaccines, biosimilars and natural products and is a leader in vaccine production both at the national as well as international levels. The Founder Chairman of the company passed away in 2022 in the month of October.

The company specializes in the therapy areas of pain management, diabetology, kidney disease management, anti-osteoporosis, anti-tubercular, gastro-intestinal disorders, organ transplant, orthopedic, oncology and vaccines.

Panacea Biotec Limited has a number of manufacturing facilities spread across the country in locations like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi. All the manufacturing facilities of the company operate according to international standards and have received approval from major international regulatory bodies. The company also has a research and development center at Lalru which was established in the year 1995 and another one at New Delhi which was set up in the year 2006. The company has an international presence in countries like USA, Germany and Russia.
