The company was started in partnership with international pharma giants and started off with the manufacture of its own products in the year 1946. Pharmed Limited was incorporated on the 10th of August in the year 1946. The company was established in the city of Mumbai in India. At the time of its start, the company was involved in the manufacturing of products on contract basis for major multinational companies like SmithKline, Boots, Pfizer, Hoechst and Parke Davis among others. After its entry into the pharmaceutical markets of India with the help of its Registered Office in Mumbai, the company launched its product for the treatment of tuberculosis in the same year in collaboration with Gruppo Lepetit and Bracco both of which are Italian pharmaceutical companies. The company shifted its base to Bengaluru under the chairmanship of Krishan Kumar Aurora in the year 1991. Aurora took over the company in the year 1989 and had started his career in the pharmaceutical industry with Smith Kline & French India Ltd. where he was employed as an Accountant. The company operated through its Pharma, ACE, and Synergy divisions.
