RPG Life Sciences Ltd. is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The company is a part of the RPG Group and was founded as a result of a joint venture with the USA based company called GD Searle in the year 1968. It was called Searle India Ltd. However, the joint venture ended when GD Searle made a retreat from the country after selling off their shares to the RPG Group in the year 1993. Therefore by the year 1999, the name Searle India Ltd. was no longer in use and the company was renamed as RPG Life Sciences Ltd. It was involved in the trade of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals primarily but it later got rid of the latter in the year 2001 to concentrate on the former, fermentation and biotechnology. The company’s biotech trade was sold to Intas Pharma in the year 2016. The company was incorporated on the 29th of March in the year 2007. The company entered the area of oncology with the launch of its Neolife division in the year 2010 and urology with the launch of its Urolife division in the year 2016. It has also made an acquisition of a total number of seven Sun Pharma brands in 2016.
