Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan Pvt. Ltd. (Kolkata) or Baidyanath is an Indian pharmaceutical company with its registered office in Kolkata, India. The company was founded by a doctor of Ayurveda medicine by the name Ram Narayan Sharma along with his brother Pandit Ram Dayal Joshi in the year 1917. It was incorporated on the 22nd of May in the year 1947. The company is involved in the production of Ayurvedic pharmaceuticals. The company in its initial days was set up at the Baidyanath Dham in the state of Bihar which now falls in Jharkhand state. The idea for the same came to Sharma on his visit to the place. Ayurveda was quite uncommon in that period with very few companies involved in it. As the demand for the products manufactured by the company grew, it expanded its business to new locations and began establishing its manufacturing units in Kolkata, Patna, Jhansi, Nagpur and Allahabad. Its first facility was established in 1921 in Kolkata. Some of the most popular products of the company were the Pranda syrup which was used in the treatment of malaria and Chyawanprash which was an immunity booster. The sale of Baidyanath went up greatly during the time of the coronavirus pandemic.
