U.S.V Private Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Mumbai. The company was founded in the year 1961 by Vithal Balkrishna Gandhi. It was incorporated in 1961 as a Private Limited company. Gandhi, the son of a vegetable vendor, had a humble family background and had to fund his education through sponsorships and tutions. He returned from America to his village after completing his education and was called the ‘American Gandhi’ by his people. His first business that he did with his friend Shantilal Parekh in the import of cashews emptied his pockets and he had to come back to India. However, he continued business activities with his friend and got the opportunity to trade in pharmaceuticals and radio accessories. They then incorporated their company under the name "American Products Company Ltd." Gandhi, due to his modest background had to once work in a mill in the slums of Mumbai where other workers and people living in slums caught Gandhi’s attention thereby making him aware of the dire need for bringing to India, healthcare and medicinal facilities. Gandhi’s company began manufacturing medicinal products after Independence with the help of USV&P Inc. and it was in the year 1960 that the company was incorporated as U.S. Vitamins & Pharmaceutical Corporation (India) Ltd.

The company specializes in the areas of anti-diabetic, respiratory, cardiovascular, vitamins, minerals, CNS, anti-hemorrhoids, nutrients, dermatology, gastroenterology and gynecology.

U.S.V Private Limited has its manufacturing facilities located in Daman and Baddi (Solan and Jharmajari) where it produces tablets, capsules, injectables and ophthalmic formulations. Facilities over here produce and supply formulations to the Indian markets as well as to the markets of US, Canada, EU, and Asia. The company has also established two API plants at Chiplun and Ambernath in Maharashtra. Another biotechnology facility stands at Nerul in Mumbai. In the year 2019, the company started with the construction of its new manufacturing unit at Salvi, Vadodara in Gujarat. The company has an international presence in the markets of US and Europe and in Cambodia, Cameroon, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Ukraine and Vietnam.
