Wallace Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Goa, India. The foundation of the company was laid by Cosme Mathais Menezes in the year 1910 when he opened up a small pharmacy in the Portuguese colony in the Southern part of India which is the present day Goa. Another company that was named after Menezes was established in the year 1960 by Pascoal Menezes and it was called CMM. It was involved in the export and trade of pharmaceuticals. By the year 1970, the company had become an established one and had spread over India and several other countries. The acquisition of Carter Wallace in the USA by the Menezes family occurred in the year 1990. Menezes’s company had already made licensing agreements and joint ventures with the company earlier at the time of its global spread. Carter Wallace, USA was now renamed as Wallace Pharmaceuticals. The company entered into an alliance with Indipharma in 1988. Thus, Wallace Pharmaceuticals emerged as a result of the joint venture with Carter Wallace Inc. and Menezes family. Wallace Pharmaceuticals is a part of the Wallace group along with two other companies Indipharma and Goodwin Biotechnology Inc. Wallace was incorporated as a private limited company on the 2nd of February in the year 1968. The company made it to the list of top forty pharmaceutical companies in the year 2017, as per the data given by ORG IMS.

The company specializes in the therapy areas of dermatology, gynecology, anti-inflammatory, gastrointestinal, anti-infective, rheumatology, pediatric, orthopedics, pain management and diabetology. The first trade division called Wallace Lifestyle was formed in 2006 to cater to the areas of rheumatology, orthopedics and diabetes.

The company has its manufacturing facilities located at Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh, at Bethora in Goa, at Dharwad in Karnataka. The research and development facility of the company is situated at Ponda in Goa. Wallace Pharmaceuticals has an international presence in countries like South Korea, Philippines, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Sierra Leone, Bolivia, Lesotho and Zimbawbe.
