Television for long hours can cause fatal blood clots
Television and time spent on it has always known to have adverse effects on health. It is well established that physical activity has an inverse and dose-response relationship with atherosclerotic CVD.Conversely, physical inactivity or prolonged sedentary behavior is consistently associated with an increased risk of vascular diseases including atherosclerotic CVD.3 Though the evidence on the relationship between physical activity and VTE risk has mostly been inconsistent.
A new ESC study reports prolonged TV watching is linked with potentially fatal blood clots finds.
The warning comes as the study reports that watching TV for four hours a day or more is associated with a 35% higher risk of blood clots compared with less than 2.5 hours. Therefore it is advisable to take breaks when binge-watching TV to avoid blood clots, say scientists.
